Walking and cycling
in Somerset

The immediate area around South Cadbury offers
fantastic opportunities for both short and longer walks.
Short walks: As well as beautiful country
lanes that meander through the Somerset countryside, South Cadbury is
the home of Cadbury Castle, an iron age hill fort, which many people believe was
King Arthur's Camelot. The views from the top are stunning. A
perfect walk for travel weary legs and to work up an appetite.
"The walk up the
hill made breakfast taste even better"
Longer walks: Lower Camelot B&B is situated on the door step of
some major walking and cycling routes:
1) Macmillan Way West.
Starting in Castle Cary this popular walk passes through South Cadbury before
crossing the Somerset Levels, the Quantocks and
Exmoor to finish on the north Devon coast (163km/102 miles)
